The Nuke modular system

One frame. Every pair you need.

Frames, arms, lenses and hinges that come apart and go back together. Swap parts to change the fit, the look or the lens, add your prescription with a clip, and replace only what wears out.

  • 2013First Nuke modular pair, launched on Indiegogo
  • 5Modular frames, one hinge system
  • Any armFits any modular frame
  • 1 clipTurns your sunglasses into prescription glasses

Who it's for

Eyeglasses, sunglasses or both. One system.

The Nuke modular system works for people who wear prescription glasses, people who need sunglasses, and people who need sunglasses with their prescription. Same frames, same arms, same parts, so you can start with one and add the others later.

You wear prescription glasses

Modular eyeglasses

Order a modular frame as eyeglasses and have your prescription lenses fitted. You still get every modular benefit: swap the arms, replace worn hinges and change the frame without starting over.

  • Everyday prescription glasses that last
  • Change the look by swapping the arms
  • Add a sunglasses frame later and keep your arms

You need sunglasses

Modular sunglasses

Polarized sunglasses that cut glare off roads, water and glass. Pick the frame and arms for what you do, and swap the lenses when the light changes or they get scratched.

  • Polarized lenses in several tints
  • Helmet-friendly or sport arms when you need them
  • New lenses instead of a new pair

You need sunglasses with your prescription

Prescription sunglasses

Add an Rx clip behind the sun lens and have your optician fit your prescription into it. Your modular sunglasses become prescription sunglasses, and the clip comes out when you don't need it.

  • See clearly in bright sun, with glare cut
  • No separate pair of prescription sunglasses
  • Change sun lenses; your prescription stays in the clip
How the Rx clip works

01 · The Nuke modular system

Five parts. All of them replaceable.

Most glasses are made to be thrown away when one part fails. Every pair in the Nuke modular system is built from separate parts that come apart and go back together, so you only ever replace what you need.

  1. FrameThe front that holds the lenses. Pick the shape: Outlaw, Outlaw II, Outlaw Ghost, Atom or Stinger.
  2. LensesPolarized sun lenses in several tints. Swap them when they scratch or when the light changes.
  3. ConnectorsThe hinges. They join the arms to the frame and are the part that takes the wear, so they are sold separately.
  4. ScrewsSmall steel screws that hold the connectors in place.
  5. ArmsClip onto the connectors. Every modular arm fits every modular frame.

02 · Swap the arms

Change the arms, change the pair.

Arms change how your Nukes fit and how they look. Keep the frame and lenses you love and switch the arms for the job.

  • Trident + flat arms that sit comfortably under a helmet
  • Spear tapered arms with a wide grip for a secure hold
  • Arc 11 curved, sculpted arms for everyday wear
  • Arms can carry your name or a custom design

03 · Swap the frame

Keep your arms. Try a new shape.

Every modular frame uses the same hinge, so the arms you already own move straight across. Add a second frame and you have a second pair for a fraction of the price.

04 · Swap the lenses

The right lens for the light.

Scratched a lens, or heading somewhere brighter? Lenses come out of the frame, so a new pair goes in without buying new glasses.

  • Ruby Fire and Blue polarized for bright sun and water
  • Smoke polarized for driving and everyday glare
  • Polarized lenses cut glare off roads, water and glass
Replacement lenses, from $29

05 · Add your prescription

Your sunglasses, with your prescription.

An Rx clip sits behind the sun lens. Have your optician fit your prescription into the clip and your modular sunglasses become prescription sunglasses. Take it out and they are regular sunglasses again.

  • No need for a separate pair of prescription sunglasses
  • Swap sun lenses as often as you like; your prescription stays in the clip
  • Modular frames are also sold as prescription eyeglasses

06 · Repair, don't replace

When something breaks, replace the part, not the pair.

Why modular

The most useful pair of glasses you can own.

01

Lasts longer

Worn parts get replaced one at a time, so the pair keeps going for years.

02

Costs less over time

A new arm, lens or connector costs a fraction of a new pair of glasses.

03

One pair, many jobs

Helmet arms for the ride, grip arms for the run, everyday arms for the office.

04

Sun and prescription

Clip in your prescription and one frame covers sunglasses and eyeglasses.

05

Less waste

One broken part no longer means a whole pair in the bin.

06

Grows with you

Add frames, arms and lenses as you go. Everything you already own still fits.

FAQ

Good questions

Do all arms fit all frames?

Yes. Every Nuke modular arm fits every Nuke modular frame: Outlaw, Outlaw II, Outlaw Ghost, Atom and Stinger.

Are DART, Spectral and the other non-modular frames compatible?

No. Our non-modular range (such as DART, Spectral Z87.1+, Inferno, Nova, Hyperion and Oracle) are one-piece frames. They are our entry-level option and do not take modular arms or lenses.

How do I add my prescription?

Order the Rx clip for your frame and take it to any optician to fit your prescription lenses. The clip then sits behind the sun lens. Modular frames are also available as prescription eyeglasses.

Which part is covered by the warranty?

Connectors on modular frames get one free replacement within a year. Frames and arms are not covered. See the warranty page for the details.

Can I try combinations before I buy?

Yes. The Nukemizer lets you pick a frame, arms, colours and lenses and see the build in 3D. You can also visit our showroom at Pioneer Junction.
